The Maiden Edition of the Independence Spirit Conference and Beauty Pageant is put in place to commemorate Nigeria’s National Day.

The program will be yearly event proposed to set a new standard in complimenting the celebration of the Nation’s independence. It will be 2 days activities which include:

1. National Conference – The conference will be held in Abuja aimed at bringing leaders in both government and non-governmental organizations together to forge a common front to deliberate on issues militating against the political and socio-economic growth of the Nation since independence in a bid of proffering lasting solution to the menace.
2. Award and Gala Night – The ceremony will wrap up the conference to honour distinguished democrats and patriots who redefined good governance by upholding the principle of transparency and accountability, putting national interest above all other interest. The men and women of integrity who refused to be influenced or controlled by corrupt leaders in the country. The few well selected personalities will receive the “Independence Spirit Award” (Indie Award 2024).
3. Beauty Pageant – The beauty pageant will be called “Miss Independence.” The crown will be keenly contested for by ladies between the age of 18 and 30 years old drawn from the 6 geo-political zones. The ceremony will hold on Day 2 of the event designed to add colour to the Nation’s Independence Day Celebration. The event will see the contestants pass through different screening, interview and other processes that will produce the best 3 contestants out of which the 1, 2 and 3^rd runners up will be selected. The winner will be crown as the Queen “Miss Independence.”
4. Modalities – The event will be widely advertised in both national dailies and televisions to create awareness nationwide. The qualified candidates will be selected and invited for orientation before the day of the event.
5. Aims and Objectives – To appoint an Ambassador (The Queen) that will serve as a role model and catalyst of change to educate Nigerians about the significant of independence to nation building. In addition to promote peace and mutual co-existence among citizens across the country for one year before she will hand over to the new Queen the following year for the same mission.

The Association was formed to shield the publishers of magazine in the country who believed in democracy and also patriotic leaders in the 3 tiers of government and non-governmental organizations who devoted themselves in building the Nation’s democracy through their chosen field of endeavours.

The National Program will hold at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. It will start on the 18^th and end on the 19^th of September, 2024.
